Most airlines have a 36 week cut off for flights over 4 hours despite having a doctors okay or not.

Most airlines wont allow a pregnant woman over 35-36 weeks no matter what your doctor says, its a liability to their company. I would never risk going onto labor away from home and my midwife......

My wife had to travel a lot and pretty long distances and the doctor said its okay, she just had to get up and walk around for like 5-10 minutes every half hour. And drink a lot of water.

My best friend wasn't allowed to board a flight because of being 36 weeks. She had dr's approval but they didn't care. The risks for them outweigh the flight.

Too risky to me. I don't want to potentially go into la or away from home. Then have to give birth at an u known hospital and then have to travel home w a newborn baby. I think that is one thing people don't consider-what if you give birth far away how are you planning on getting that baby back home? I would never put my newborn on a plane.

I drove 4 hours one way to see my family at 36 weeks then 4 hours back and this was all by myself. It was awful and I wouldn't even want to think about flying this far along

I drove 8 hours at 36 weeks for a funeral. I talked about it with my midwife ahead of time. She said it wasn't recommended but the 2 biggest risks are going into labor (obviously) and blood clots. I haven't had any signs of preterm labor so I took my medical records with me as well as the car seat and hospital bag. For the second I got out of the car every hour or two and walked around. For a longer flight id recommend compression stockings.

As far as if it went well or not, I didn't have the baby on the road but I have been very uncomfortable and took naps every day. Whether that would have been true at home, who knows.

Have you been approved by your doctor to fly?? Very risky that late in pregnancy.
