Does anyone else get scoffed at when you mention your desire/plan for an epidural free childbirth (if possible)? As the time approaches friends and family (females that have given birth) have asked and when they hear that that is my plan they are kind of rude and unsupportive. " Oh you're going to change your mind!" "Why the hell wouldn't you take the relief?" " You don't even know what pain is yet!" Yes, very true I have no idea what I'm about to go through but I have a high pain tolerance, am a trained athlete that took care physically and nutritionally this entire pregnancy despite throwing up every freaking day, have read and researched, and more important than anything - I am strong willed and determined. If something comes up where I physically cannot bear the pain then I have the common sense to reevaluate the situation and make the appropriate decisions. It's the right off the bat criticism that gets me. Anyone else ?
