Contractions?

Do labor contractions feel like BH just painful?
Last night I started having weird pains, like having to go poop, but that wasn't it. They went away but now are coming back. Labor pains or not?

Mine felt like the worlds worst period cramps. And wrapped around to my lower back as well...they do tighten your belly like BH though.

My Braxton hicks were never painful with my first and haven't been this time either. Once I was in labor real contractions hurt like hell!

The real thing is alot more painful, they won't go away after eating/drinking/moving around. They say that false labor contractions sometimes are more focused in the lower part of your stomach as where real ones you'll feel like in the top and sides and kind of squeezing down to the bottom. They are like very painful period cramps, that don't go away. They will start off and become closer together in a semi-regular pattern and get more intense as the time goes by.
