DEPO OR IUD!?

so I had my son on 12/11/15 . It was an assisted birth and the recovery was hell lol I got the depo shot before leaving hospital... I have not stopped bleeding since his birth!!! I know that's almost for months! It will lighten up then come heavy so it goes back n forth but now it's time for me to get BIRTHCONTROL again and I am debating on the shot again or IUD . I'm so over all this bleeding seriously !!!! But I've heard it's harder to get pregnant or it will take longer with an implant. It took me almost 3 years to conceive so I am NOT well don't want it to be like that again :(

I had an IUD after my first and loved it. I didn't have any issues for the 3  years it was in place. It made my periods lighter and more regular and we decided to have it removed and try for our second I was pregnant within one cycle. I'll definitely be doing an IUD again.

I had the mirena for about a year. It worked well for me. Made my periods really light, but I still got one about every month. I think I may have a skipped a month here or there, but it wasn't ever a problem. Got it out and ovulated a few weeks later(was using OPKs). Didn't start trying until I had it out for 3 months though, but got pregnant right away. I'll probably get another after this baby :)

I have had both Depo and IUD, they both are Terrible. My IUD migrated, had to have it removed, and I've been off Depo for a year and a half, and if you ever want to get Pg again, depo is not for you. I still haven't got pregnant yet. So, if you're ok with possibly never conceiving again, and no period, Depo is definitely the way to go, and If you think your IUD won't migrate but want to get pregnant again, get it. Neither option is good, really.

All of that bleeding is normal for Depo, unfortunately. I wish I had never taken it. It's believed to have contributed to my osteoporosis, which was diagnosed after I broke a hip at 28. But I had been taking it for a number of years before the FDA said it could cause bone density loss.

Go for the IUD if you want more kids in the future. I was on the shot 8 1/2 yrs and completely regret it now that I'm TTC again.

IUD and depo work differently for different people. 
IUD was good for me and I got preg a few months after having it removed whereas depo almost killed me. I lost 75% of my blood over a few months time and had to be hospitalized and was put on the pill 3 times a day to stop the bleeding. I didn't really know better, being so young, that soaking a super tampon and heavy pad in an hour was bad.

I had heavy bleeding on depo too. I eventually went off it, and got a paragaurd (copper, non-hormonal) IUD, which I loved. Other than heavy periods and bad cramps the first few months, it was great. No side effects, normal cycles, and was able to get pregnant the first cycle after I had it removed 10 years later.

I had the nexplanon removed Feb 1st. Bled non stop. Had Mirena after my daughter for 6 months had it removed because I had no sex drive but upon removal I still didn't want to have sex with her dad started dating my BF now and had no issues with sex drive so safe to say it was her dad not my Mirena lol. The depo shot is notorious for making getting pregnant even ovulation again VERY difficult. I don't recommend the shot and would never ever get it.
