Eye colors

I just watched a video where people can pay doctors to cut their eye open and insert basically a non perscription contact lense thing into your eye to change your eye color. It's illegal in the US and costs thousands of dollars. What's everyone's take on this?? Personally I think it's insane to go through such a risk and unnesscary procedure for something as small as eye color!!
