Placenta encapsulating?

I'm seriously thinking of encapsulating my placenta after. What are your thoughts? Comment.

I'm a childbirth educator and doula. It's not a good practice. The blood could easily be contaminated. It can carry strep B if you were positive. It contains traces of heavy metals. Carries toxins. 
Europe is actually making it illegal.
There is no evidence that eating the placenta prevents or treats postpartum depression, speeds healing in postpartum bleeding, improves iron stores, or improves milk supply. 
There is no actual research backing up the claims made.
There was however a study in Australia that found that it did not increase energy or affect depression. 
10 studies in the US shows that it does not offer reduced pain, less depression, boost energy, help with lactation, promote skin elasticity, help maternal bonding or build iron up. You can find that info on Northwestern medicine

I would rather not eat something I pushed out of my vagina. Plus it hasn't been proven that there are benefits. So I will pass this time around. Maybe next baby.

It's a bit expensive for a placebo, and I would be cautious with whoever is processing it so it's not contaminated (they are probably not getting permits with the local health inspector), but it's your money.

Until the research can prove it's beneficial, I'm not wasting my money. The research hasn't shown any harm to it though either so I don't discourage others from doing it.

My friend did it with her third child. She said she didn't notice any significant difference in the postpartum period and will not be doing it again with her fourth. Wasn't worth the money for her. But worth a try for you, if you are really interested. However, like other posters have noted, no significant research has found any benefits to the process.

I am so glad I did it. It helped balance my hormones to makes me less emotional and I didn't bleed very bad. My recovery was easy and quick. I could tell the difference if I ever skipped a day. Totally worth it.

I would talk to your health care provider of you are considering it. I wanted to but where I live they don't allow you to take it from the hospital. Do your research and get it approved as well as having someone come within a few hours with a cooler to take it to your house for freezing. 
It's an awesome option I think a lot of people should consider. I would 100% do it if I were allowed.

To each their own, I've heard great things about it. I personally won't do it but that's just me. Just make sure do your reserch on the company first.

Just be careful where you have it done. Some places you send your placenta in and get something else back. Usually not harmful,  but a waste.
