Mother's Day : Are you celebrating if your baby is due after May 8??

Question

A friend asked me if I would be celebrating Mother's Day this year, my baby is due in July and that's something I haven't even thought about until she asked me. I thought that was a great question and i'm really curious what other people think about the topic!

Once you reach the point in your pregnancy that you would feel heartbroken or devastated for losing your child if something bad happened you're officially a mother. It's a different point for every woman.

My baby died and I still get mothers day gifts from my husband.

Just because your baby isn't here on the holiday, doesn't mean you're not a mother. I would celebrate the holiday still if my baby was due after.

My baby is due June 25 but could come truely any day.. If its before we will probably share a cupcake or something..

We lost our first at 22 weeks last July and even though I didnt get to "parent" that baby long (30 minutes or so) im still his mommy... In the past 12 months ive been pregnant 10.5 of them..  I think i deserve a mommy cupcake to.share with hubs...

Im on bedrest for IC and ive given up a lot of.my lifestyle to keep this little guy in for a while longer... I feel a mommy makes sacrifices for their child even.in.utero so i dont see anything wrong with celebrating mothers day pre-baby..

I was due with my son in late July. .. wasnt sure if we would celebrate or not, but hubby had a huge bouquet with blue balloons delivered to my work, and then took me out for a nice dinner when I got home.  :-) it was very sweet. You have to be willing to do something nice for him too on father's day. Just as you are already a mother, he is already a dad.

SO has a son that doesn't live with us and I called our best friend and we took him to the carnival and out to eat for Father's day. I wouldn't buy myself anything but if he decides to take me out I wouldn't mind. We'll probably celebrate by buying stuff for the baby. I'm due in June btw.

Last Mother's Day I was pregnant and my SO took me to pig out at my fav resturant on Mother's Day. I didn't ask him to he was just being sweet
