Period panties!

Does anyone have them? I'd love to hear about people's experiences! I'm thinking of getting them but they are pricey. I'd like to know how they stand up against a heavy flow - like a "bleed through a super tampon in an hour" heavy flow...I know I'd probably have to pair it with something, but it seems nice to wear it on lighter days.
