Bottles or no bottles?

Question

I want to strictly breastfeed. How do I store my milk? What do I need for it? I am totally lost at what to buy. Do I need bottles at all?

I'm pretty sure they have specific bottles that attach to the pump, you'd just have to look. I also agree to have some extra bottles as well :)

Nipple cream! I will just say though that I planned to strictly breastfeed but it just didn't happen. I would recommend buying a pump (just a manual one) and a couple of bottles just to be on the safe side. You can get storage bags which go in the freezer and have measurements on them. My baby just couldn't latch on and after 3 days she was getting dehydrated. Only option was to   pump so it's a good idea to have one there as a back up.

I bought a breast pump, tons of storage bags, a marker to write on the bags, and a few glass bottles with the rubber covers. I think I had some extra nipples for the bottles also. I would nurse her and then after she finished if I still had some left, or while she was sleeping if my milk let down I would pump, write the date, and freeze. It really helped later on to have the extra stores up even though I didn't initially plan on using it really.

I bought 2 breast feeding bottles, a manual pump and storage bags. I plan to exclusively breast feed but I think it's smart to have a back up plan in case of an emergency. Hopefully the bottles will never need to be used tho 😊

First you need to figure out what kind of pump you are getting (check with insurance you are likely able to get one free from them) then once you know what pump you can but those specific bottles or depending on the pump they sell adapters to hook onto other brands of bottles. I highly recommend having a few bottles so eventually when you are ready you can rub errands or go out or something without baby. Unless you plan to always be home when baby needs to eat. My daughter is almost 10 months and breast fed she refuses all bottles so i always have to be with her and although I love it someday a little break would be great. Also the medela bags don't freeze and store anywhere near as well as the lansinoh bags. Those freeze flat and take up way less freezer space. I have stored hundreds of ounces and ended up donating a lot of it since my daughter won't drink from a bottle or cup it it's milk. Good luck.

I bought the Kindii set. It's a bag that connect directly to your pump. It makes it so much easier to pump. Since I'll be breastfeeding exclusively I only bought 2 bottles that go with the set. She won't need a lot. Maybe just a few for someone to babysit her for a few hours if needed.
