Who follows the Bible well...I need guidance! :)

Question

I am 18 and my man and I are not married. We sinned through fornication so no judgement needed please. I am 20 weeks and 1 day pregnant with a baby girl and my man and I are engaged. With our little girl on the way, we want to live together for many reasons, that aside, due to what the Bible says, is it okay or not okay for us to live under the same roof and raise our child till we are married? The Bible says that you shouldn't live together before marriage, I get that...but the Bible also says that you are to be a husband before a father, and if you are not then you sinned through fornication. I want to make things right by God by marriage, but we do not know when that will happen. The Bible also says the woman should parent under the man. Though so many things come to play in this, and his parents are stuck on us not living together due to not being married but his parents also don't want us getting married for a few years...it is a big mess. Thank you!

If you live together the odds that you won't continue having sex are pretty slim. Unless you are married then it is still fornication. Either get married now, because you started a family you should make it permanent for the child, or split up and move on. Don't play house and pretend marriage. It's a mockery of what God has asked of you- marriage then family- according to your own words. To live in opposition to what you actually believe will create guilt in you and cause you to feel like a hypocrite. Not accusing you, just explaining what actually happens when there's that much cognitive dissonance within a person due to discrepancy between what they believe and what they do.

We all make mistakes in life. ALL OF US. But we do get to choose whether we keep making more mistakes or we repent and choose a better path. Despite his family's wishes, you know that getting married now is the choice most in line with your beliefs. Act in accordance with what you believe and you will find the most happiness, even if t isn't the easiest path. You don't need an Internet forum to tell you what you believe. Love and hugs. I am a Christian and have talked with some other regarding situations similar. Boiled down if your going to get married do it asap and then move on with your lives together. If your waiting to get married so you can have a big wedding just get married legally right away then have the reception and a ceremony in front of your family when you can afford it.

As a Christian, the best thing you and your fiancé can do is be the best example of Christ to your beautiful baby girl now. And for your fiancé, his goal right now should be to seek God first and to also keep yours and his dignity and integrity intact. It seems that you both have repented of your sins before God and asked for forgiveness not only from God, but also your families and each other. But if you move in together without actually being married and start raising your daughter together, those temptations are still going to be there and if you fall into that temptation again, it is still wrong and considered sin. So don't put yourselves in that situation. No matter how small or what your budget is, your wedding can still be very nice and elegant. If you wanna get married before your baby arrives and before living together, I would say go for it. Especially if it's important to you that he is your husband before your baby comes. However, make sure you and your fiancé are both seeking God first. And that you're prepared for what marriage truly entails. Marriage between a husband and wife is one of the most important commitments you can ever make to another person. It is one of the only relationships that truly expose all your imperfections and flaws in each other and you have to learn to love each other unconditionally. It's very understandable that your families wouldn't be comfortable with you both getting married right away because to them you are still their baby and young and don't want you to go through hardships or get hurt or make a mistake. Pray and ask God for guidance, and hopefully if you decide to get married first, they will support you and understand that you want to please God and do things the right way. Ask for forgiveness & move on. You can raise your baby together under the same roof & not be married... But if you ask for forgiveness for premarital sex. If you know that he's the one you'll be with for the rest of your lives, tell him that. I feel like that's close enough to being married, is God gonna send u to hell for not having an official wedding ceremony if you plan to be together for your whole lives? I doubt it.

This is how I look at it. The deed is done. You guys had sex and made a child. It's not right to split up because a book tells you to do so. There a millions of unwed mothers out there. You're not the only one by far. Sometimes in situations like this the bible isn't the book to follow. And honestly if it was you guys wouldn't have had sex made a child or be living together.

Me and my now husband had our son out of wedlock. But in our hearts we considered ourselves married before it was even official. I believe if God knows what's in your heart, you will be fine. Live under the same roof, be a family.

Forgot the bible or God and do what is right for the child you are about to bring into this world. That is your priority now, not you and your partners beliefs. This child has no choice and doesn't know anything of the world. Having two people to love and look after it is better than one. Don't let judgement of any form deprive your child of the best start in life . If you honestly believe in God. Then surely he would not punish you for loving and raising a child correctly and in a happy loving environment.

Get married and live together and raise this child, or he needs to live separately. He can still be a father figure but it's hard to live under the same roof as someone and not be tempted to have sex.
