Who makes the most in your relationship?

My husband does and I feel like that makes me less independent. I pay my own bills then the house bills together

You're a team. As long as you're both contributing and paying the bills what does it matter?

Your post is why I am against separate bank accounts in marriage.  It shouldn't matter who makes what.  You are now one.  If your finances were commingled it wouldn't be as obvious who makes more.  I feel like you feel less independent because you are responsible for certain bills and so is he.  Everything should be a joint venture.

When my husband and I first got married I was in college and had no income.  I always told him that it was his money and he always corrected me that it was our money.  After a while I got used to it.  Now I make 75% of the household income and it had never occurred to me that it's my money or his money.  It's our money. We are equals. Period.

I don't understand theses posts about his money my money who contributes most ect. Who does more. When your married your a partnership. You agreed to become one. No ones keeping score. You do what's best for the marriage. I might be old fashioned but with in the bigger picture of marriage a score card isn't important. Just my opinion

Def my husband! I make ok money don't get me wrong but he's a private govt contractor....and makes more in one DAY than I do in 2 weeks! By golly there's such a thing as a savings acct now tho!! I've NEVER had one that had more than $30 in it!! So proud of us!!!

We make almost the exact same. Within $500 dollars of each other per year. But I will be quitting to be a SAHM so he will be making more. We don't care, we've had it both ways and it doesn't matter because our account is joint and all bills are paid from that account.

My partner makes way more than me seeing as to how my job doesn't pay me half the time. I don't ever really see it as not being independent bc to me a relationship is a partnership. That's the one person you're allowed to be dependent on. Bc they're also dependent on you.

My husband makes $16 an hour and I make $11.50 an hour. So obviously him!

I make more..makes him feel like less of a man but I just have always made more but hopefully won't always..he doesn't have much drive in the working department

Me at the minute but I support him and when I was earning less he supported me, we both pay towards meals out and cinema dates etc 😊 we don't own a house currently so we just enjoy our money and pay for things for one another, we never owe it back because one will always make it up another way.
