Ok so I will be 12 weeks tomorrow and I see on here a lot of people are finding out the sex way sooner then the normal 18-20 weeks how is this possible? This is my 4th and I have 3 boys dying to know what this one is lol

The tech told me through ultrasound at 12 weeks 3 days. We are getting a blood test to confirm next week and another ultrasound in three weeks as well.

Sometimes people get lucky on a first trimester ultrasound.

Most people on here are finding out early because they also happen to be having genetic testing done for chromosomal abnormalities.

I had the test done b/c I'm over 35 and technicality higher risk for Down's Syndrome and other genetic disorders. Fortunately, the test showed my actual risk is quite low.

To be honest, if you're low risk, I'd skip the tests and wait to find out via ultrasound. I suppose it's nice knowing early that we're having a boy, but finding out over the phone was pretty impersonal vs. finding out while watching my DD do somersaults on an ultrasound.
