Mini-Pills or IUD?

Kyrie
Hi ladies,
So I sucked up my apprehension and went to the gyno today. It was actually a great experience - she was fantastic!
During our talk, we discussed contraception options. I have slightly elevated blood pressure, so she decided a non-estrogen contraceptive would be best for me. We discussed mini-pills and Mirena - both progestin-only options.
In on the fence about what would be best. I know IUDs are more effective, but I'm uninsured so the upfront cost is a bit scary. Pills, on the other hand are less costly, but less effective... (though I've relied on condoms for 5+ years without incident).
Anybody have any advixe?
