Does GD affect sleep?

I just found out I have GD two days ago and I am still researching everything. Does anyone know if high blood sugar causes one to wake up for hours at a time in the middle of the night? I wake up from 3-5 every night and usually just sit up worrying about my job. I don't wake up to urinate. I am 29 and 6 days. Any insights are greatly appreciated! I will modify my diet in any way to sleep through the night :)
