I think social media has a HUGE role in racism issues today.

I think it has to do with how they're raised because some families keep passing it down to their children and keep the hatred alive. Some people are just too ignorant to learn too.

In the US, the current climate of anti-black racism is due in large part to the remnants of the transatlantic slave trade and its role in the foundation and formation of the US as we know it. 
Yes, this is not the only form of racism in the US, but its systemic structure and reach helps to perpetuate racism against other POC. Especially seeing as the other major influence on racism in the US is due to the rape, pillage, and murder of the indigenous populations. 
These actions cast long reaching shadows. People as a whole have been raised in these shadows, even if they don't realize it. Talking about it ruffles feathers because it upsets the status quo, but silence enables it. Social media helps to bridge the gap between groups of people that haven't been heard, but it also gives hate a platform to join together as well. But the root is history.

Honestly, its the fact that racists are still raising racists. Whether intentional or not, some people dont realize that the future really does lie in the hands of the next generation.

I saw a commercial saying that this generation is popping out the most non ciggarette smokers since the 1900's (dont quote me on the year lol I cant remember for sure) and that made me proud. I smoke but also hope my kids dont.

Racism is taught through experience AND heritage. Someone who has heard their whole life about how black people are scum may choose not feel that way until a negative experience with black people. Its sad but true.

I feel like the media has a lot to do with it... They stir things up and sometimes twist things around.

But you also have to remember, racism is taught. It isn't a natural thing. So I also think it definitely would be people teaching their children racism.

All of them but the media flares it up the most at this point I think. It's easy to get views and money when you put tons of negativity in your reports.
