Marriage vow renewal??

Silly or sweet? My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years now, and I thought it would be sweet to have a 5 year celebration with close family and friends. We have been thought some shit and are so much stronger now. What are your views on vow renewals?

My husband and I are going to have a vow renewal on our 5 year. He made a huge sacrifice for me and did the wedding with my culture and my religion. So I will make a sacrifice for him and do the renewal in his culture and religion.

I really don't give a fuck about if people think it's silly. Don't like it? Don't do it. Don't show up.

My husband and I got married by the justice of the peace so we wanted to be able to go up for communion when our children made their first communion so at our 9 yr mark we had our vow renewal and our marriage blessed in the church. We have now been married 17 yrs.

Sweet and beautiful thing to do - Get out, get dressed beautifully and do it with the ones you love around you. It's a great reminder of how lucky you are.

Stupid. You make vows for a lifetime, there's no point to "renew" them, they don't expire. If you missed out on a wedding, why not just have a big anniversary party?

Im going to at 5 years. We are actually going to have a wedding reception with a vow renewal first. We didnt have a reception for our first wedding so thats our plan.
