Has anyone gotten married at a courthouse?

We're planning on getting married at a courthouse, in July. He knows how I feel about marriage in the first place, I'm not into the big frufru kinda thing for a wedding nothing big but will have a party at the house later on. I want to hear people's experiences with getting married at a courthouse.

My husband and I have both been married before. Neither of us wanted a big wedding and all of our family are far away in other states so financially they were unable to attend anyway so we just went to the courthouse. Got our marriage license. Called ahead, made an appointment for our date, went down there; I think The ceremony took like 10 mins. It was a really simple process.

I did. I didn't want an extravagant wedding. I wanted something more intimate so we are having a little reception with a cake and made reservations at a nice restaurant with family and close friends.

My husband and I did because he was joining the military. We were already engaged but our wedding that we planned to have was not going to happen do to him going through basic and getting stationed. So we did a quick court house marriage so I could go with him. Which was a good thing because he got stationed in Europe... It was nice, you can wear whatever you want. My sister was there and recorded the whole thing. Personally I would have preferred my beach wedding that I planned but I was nice for what it was.
