Are there or were there any teen moms on here.  I really want a baby.  I'm 19 , I am in college, and I work. I don't go out or anything I find myself home most of the time..  I really want a baby but I don't know if its a good step?  How was your experience...

I had my son at 15. I wouldn't change it for the world, but if you have a choice I would wait just a little longer till you finish college. You need a steady job that you can take the 6 weeks off, and babysitting is expensive. Going to college isn't ideal when you have a baby and no money. Get a puppy! They'll keep you busy for a while!

I used to always want a baby since 18. I'm not a teen mom but i do advise wait a couple of years. To make sure u really are ready, theres nothing wrong with waiting. And making sure it's the right man that will take care of u and the baby. Ur eggs will be good till ur mid 30s. They wont go anywhere. But if u really want a baby and ur really ready for it, then do what u feel like its right. It's ur life, no one can really make a big decision like this for u. Good luck

Babies are truly wonderful and cute, but also very expensive and a lot of work! I would wait till you are done your education and able to fully support yourself, SO, and baby :) but ur life ur choice

I'm 18, almost 19, and pregnant. It was unplanned- but for years and years all I wanted was to have a baby. Now that I'm pregnant, my advice for you is to wait. I love my baby more than anything already, but the truth is I can't provide for it as well as I could five or ten years from now. My boyfriend and I love each other very much, we live together, and pay all of our bills as well as have good jobs, but with me in school and everything, childcare and child expenses is going to be ROUGH. My boyfriend's grandmother recently passed away and we received 20k from her. That's the only reason I feel like we'll be able to make it finacially- but even then, my boyfriend is still going to be working 50 hour weeks while I'm at home with the baby AND trying to take classes. Babies are very expensive and need constant 24/7 attention- you being home most of the time doesn't matter, you need to be home ALL of the time.

Just wait it out until you're out of school and financially stable. You also didn't mention if you have a supportive boyfriend or not- that's VERY important. Wait until you find someone you'd want your own child to have. Teach them what love is and how it should be.

I'm 33, my daughter is 15. I was a teen mom. My daughter and I are very close, she finds it hard to believe her friends don't have the same relationships with their moms; they have much bigger age gaps, but she still thinks I'm ancient! There are things I have given her recently which I wished I could have provided her when she was younger and wasn't in the position to, but that is my only regret. Her dad and I were together for 5 years before we had her and that felt like the right time for us, but our relationship broke down when she was very young as he couldn't cope. I do feel sad that she didn't have the father she deserved. That's my experience!
