Ik they physically can but if you saw a white girl with box braids what would you think? Like awe those cute or no she don't need to be having those?

It's called cultural appropriation and it's actually a problem /: Black people are the ones who are oppressed not white people. So the fact we glorify the parts we like about their culture (big lips, those braids, ect) but ignore the fact that they're still oppressed and hated to this day because of their skin color and people view their natural hair as ugly and what not. Women with natural hair literally aren't hired at offices so often because they consider their hair "unprofessional." So it's kind of like us wearing headdresses to cover our hair, or anything like that because we think it looks good. Even though when the people who need to wear those things are hated for it. It's offensive.
