Amber teething necklace?

Question

What is everyone's thoughts on them?  For a long time I was a skeptic and non-believer, but now with a very cranky teething 3.5m old, I'm willing to try almost anything.

If you use them, where do you buy them? I found some on amazon, but many reviews stated they were plastic and not real amber?

Do you feel like they work or notice an improvement in your LO's behavior? And if they didn't work, did you find something else that did besides teething tablets or orajel?

If you breastfeed, you could also freeze some of your breast milk & give it to your baby so he can suck on, some people call them "momsicles" & Ive read theres something in the breast milk that soothes them, it's best for your baby & probably way cheaper too! They sell little trays specifically for it, you could probably find it on amazon.

I was just looking these up. I decided to opt out on getting them because they can be a hazard like if you child chews on it even though it's not meant for that they could swallow a bead and choke. I give my son lots of toys to chew on and I've found some that vibrate that he really likes!

I have a girlfriend who used the same necklace for two of her three kids, and she said it was literally like turning on a drool faucet when she took it off of them. She swears by them.

However, that being said, there is a darker side to these. A woman found her toddler almost strangled (you can find pictures of the marks on the little girls arm and neck) after she had wriggled her arm all the way up into the necklace. Plus, there is no hard scientific evidence that these (they must be Baltic Amber) jewellery provide any of the benefits it claims to.

So in the end I would suggest doing your own research and weighing the risks and benefits. It's a very personal decision.

I swear by them! I didn't have one with my oldest but did with my next two babies and will always always swear by them. But just like any natural remedy, it works with the body's natural make up, so it can be more efficient with some more so then others. We get our necklaces from MacRae Naturals. So beautiful!

I bought the necklace and bracelet from Amazon and found them a burden more than anything!  The necklace you have to take off during every nap and bathtime (label says these are not to be wet or in pools) - and my LO is 5.5mths so she naps often so it's always coming on and off, I left it on once just to see if she'd do ok and I was a nervous wreck thinking it'd choke her so I had to go wake her up to get it off lol Then the bracelet is still too big for her wrist so it slides off and I'm scared she'll chew on it in the crib and swallow
it and it's too small for her ankles 😩😑 Jealous for anyone it does work with because they are cute!  Good luck 😊

I love it! I always notice a difference in my son when he's not wearing it...he chews on more stuff, he drools like crazy and is all around more fussy. When he's wearing it, you can definitely tell he feels better. Way better than dosing him for pain, plus, he never really seemed to like teething toys. They're designed not to be a choking hazard and I haven't had one problem with my son chewing/choking on it.

I love ours! My daughter has worn it ever since she was 4 months old and has had little to no problems with teething even now with multiple teeth coming in! I would suggest it to every mom!
