What baby stuff do you really need?

First time mom here and im 29 weeks pregnant... I havent bought anything for baby yet and just wondering what should i buy? Also should i buy a crib or a pack n play instead? Thanks! :)

Ps. I dont plan on having a baby shower since where i live they dont really celebrate em...

Definitely shop at garage sales. That's where you will find the best deals on clothes, toys, accessories, cribs/co sleepers,etc.

If you get a crib, the baby will be able to sleep in it longer than a pack n play. If you get a convertible crib, it can turn into a bed later on and be more worth your money if you can afford it now. You wouldn't necessarily need a pack n play then unless you travel a bit, then I'd suggest getting it too if you can swing it.

Clothes, stuff for food (formula supplies or breastfeeding supplies), car seat, stroller, and a place to sleep.

Are you having a baby shower. I'd wait til after. Only thing I've bought is a few outfits and carseat/stroller. 
My shower is at the end of the month and I'm due may 31 , so I'll have to wait to see what I don't receive so I could buy it.
