Mines just under $13k so I had to pick under $50k which might skew your results of your poll a little. I went to community college, that's why my loans are so "low"

$65,000, halfway down from $130,000 five years ago!

$12,495. 65 that's my current balance started at $20,000. I can't wait until it's gone. I am on a graduated repayment plan.

I graduated after 5 years in a four year college (changed majors once) with about 16k in debt. I paid for college 100% on my own. I lived at home and my parents fed me and allowed me to use the car as long as I paid for it. I made it a priority to pay off my loans when I got my job and it was at 0 within a year. If you get a degree that will pay well out of college there is no reason to have to be in debt for a long time.

I had about $30k but made paying it off a priority a couple of years ago.  I graduated in 2002.
