Hey y'all. I'm 18 years old and I've had my period since I was nine years old. The past year or so my cramps have become more painful and unbearable to the point I have to check out of school. I finally went to the doctor today about it and they almost put me on birth control but I chose not to. Instead I'm taking a high dosage of Aleve. Have any of you taken birth control for period cramps? Does it work? How well? What's the cons? Thanks :)

** FYI I have never been sexually active which is why I'm really not wanting to be on birth control. I don't see the need for it, especially because of my beliefs.
