Would you help them?

My husbands coworker called and said he is desperate for money. He wants $350, but I don't think we will do that, but maybe give him like fifty and not expect to see that money again? What do you think?

My rule with lending money is NEVER give out money if you ever need it back. Odds are, you won't ever see it again. So if it's an amount you'll miss, don't do it.

My suggestion is not to give it to him....instead ask him what it is for.  Gas ..go with him to the gas station ($350 quite a bit for gas but u see my point)! Rent...go with him to pay the rent. Etc. if he will not let you go with him, he is not in desperate need of the money and probably using it foolishly. Obviously if you can do without the money and truely feel he needs it. Also I would definitely make him well aware that this is a one time thing, you don't need him coming back every month asking for money!

I wouldn't give $350 but I would give a little. Anytime I give anyone money I never expect it to be repaid. It's a sure fire way to set yourself up.

Don't lend anything you can't afford to lose. He may or may not pay you back. I'd help if I could but idk about $350. That's a lot of money.

It would depend on how well I knew my co-worker. I would do what I could to help them out however I wouldn't give them 350$ unless I knew they really well and I knew what the money was for. It would also depend if I had that kind of money to give them and not worry about it if I didn't get it back right away.
