Do I keep perusing..?

so I've been seeing this guy for a couple months, we do everything that a couple does. but the only thing is, he never answers my messages and we only hang out like once every 2 weeks. he's still hung up on his ex that he broke up with a year ago... (and it makes me kinda sad tbh). I'm here, why not live in the present?.. so my question is, do I keep Pursuing this guy? and if so.. how long do I give him to get over his ex and make this official? I'm not gonna wait around forever. I want a relationship. a real relationship.

I would talk to him about it also . He might just be using you as a shoulder to hang onto but still has the feelings and love towards his ex . I wouldn't keep him as a priority guy . Besides you can't date someone that's still hung up on their ex because you never know what they'll do if they start a relationship with you . They can keep communicating with their ex hanging out with them or even having sex with them still . If you'd like to still pursue him then just prepare for the possibility of getting hurt . But don't make him a top priority over other guys that aren't hung up on their exes and doesn't ignore your messages . Good luck ☯

He's using you as a second option. He's keeping you around and hanging out with you enough that you'll stick around but not enough to show that he's committed. He's keeping you around until he knows whether or not his ex will take him back and if she won't he's gonna lean on you as a rebound and if she does he's just gonna stop hanging out with you and talking to you all in one.
