Period after Miscarriage

Long story short, after all kind of meds and procedures, my husband and I saved up and went through Ivf in December 2015, just short of 6 years ttc. It worked! I got pregnant but I miscarried at 6w5d on 1/14. 💔 my dr put me on meds to "clean" out the miscarriage before deciding if I needed a d and c. The meds worked (I bled super heavily from 1/15-1/25). I haven't had a period since. I've been working on weight loss and saving up money to do a fet. But how long does it take to get another period? I took a test over a week ago and it was negative, is there any possibility I could be pregnant again? Should I buy more tests just to be heartbroken over more negative tests!?! We have been ttc 6+ years and I'm so sad and depressed 💔😢 dr said it could take a few months but I can't go see him until my new insurance kicks in in 90 days 😖
