Cluster feeding and supply
My son is 2 weeks old. I am EBF and a FTM. He feeds really well and eats for 20-30 min per feeding and goes between 2-4 hours between feedings from 11pm until early afternoon. In the afternoon and going until early evening, he cluster feeds about every 1-2 hours and is moderately fussy (likes to be held in between feeds). I am 100% ok with this schedule and thought he would grow out of it at some point, but tonight I began to wonder if he is perhaps not getting enough milk during the cluster period to really satisfy him. My breasts are still pretty soft from one cluster feed to the next - they def do not feel full. After his fourth cluster round tonight I gave him a 2 ounce bottle of expressed breast milk. He chugged it like he was starving and has been sleeping happily in his rock and play ever since. So my question is whether I should be pumping (maybe at night when I seem to have oversupply) so I have extra milk for him to bottle feed during the cluster time. I am new at this and appreciate any advice any of you experienced moms may have.
