Why girls pink and boys blue?

Why does babygirls always have to wear pink .. everything pink! and boys blue?

If i give birth to a girl i will not buy her pink .. or too much pink. I want my future babies to wear anything other than pink and blue.. i know its just a color but... it annoys me 😄

I think it's just so people can tell if it's a boy or a girl. I don't understand why people freak out over this so much

When I had my first baby girl I didn't want all pink however, the clothing stores make that difficult as nearly everything girls is pink. I found it hard to find yellows, greens and other colours in the cute girls clothes.

I know what you mean. My boy is 17 months and is drawn to pink and purple and I let him play with toys that are girls. I don't care. Let him do what he wants.  
I think when the babies are real young, moms do dress them in pink or blue because it makes it easier for strangers to figure out if it is a boy or girl. Moms don't like it when their baby is called the wrong gender.

I like pink and blue but not the designs. Baby girl stuff often comes in pink/orange/grey flowery prints. Hate it. I registered for a lot of "boy" stuff- whales and turtles, etc. I think it's much cuter 😊

It annoys the heck out of me too. I told my husband if this one is a girl we're going with purples and other colors with a little pink here and there. There's so many cute choices for girls! Our son is almost five and just now finding some cute tops for him.
