NexPlanon AND Mini Pill (???)

Question

Hello ladies! 
I have the NexPlanon and have been reading a lot of women experiencing prolonged bleeding. But I've also read that they were prescribed the MiniPill along with the rod which seemed to help with the bleeding. Any one have an experience/comment?!?!

When I first got Nexplanon I had to go on the pill too because I ended up having my period for three months! I had no side effect or anything. It just stopped my period and then I stopped taking it
