Co-Washing your hair?

So I don't know if y'all know what Co-Washing is. BUT! I'll explain. 👌🏽 It's just washing your hair with conditioner and not use shampoo at all. I heard its better for the hair. I'm not sure. But I would like to know if any of you do it. And know what y'all think about it. ☺️ So I could try it.

I know a few people that co wash only and have success with it.

I personally don't use any store bought shampoo or conditioner. It was making my scalp too itchy no matter what I did because I had to wash so often. The reason most people's hair gets so oily so quick is because your scalp is over producing oil to try and replenish what is washed away since our scalp and hair actually need the oil.

I use 1 tbs baking soda and 1 tbs 100% aloe mixed w/ one cup water to wash and 1 tbs apple cider vinegar mixed with 1 cup water to condition. This should only be done every 4 days, but since starting this my hair doesn't start to show oil until at least day 6. I also use a boar bristle brush to brush my hair every night, which helps spread the natural oils your scalp creates to the ends of you hair which conditions the ends. :)

It's amazing!!!! I would highly recommend it!! I have really oily hair that I used to have to wash twice a day. I've I have up shampoo, the oil started to manage itself and my hair has never looked/felt better!

If you don't use the right conditioner, it can damage your hair. When you dye your hair, it isn't shampoo that causes the color to wash out, but conditioner. Try a natural conditioner or even make your own!!

Curly hair here!! I'm caucasian, 21, and my hair falls under my shoulder blades. I only co wash. It's great! Highly recommend! The first two weeks is really hard because your hair is used to the natural oils being washed away so it overproduces oil at first.
