Baby blues?

Before you read this..let me preface- I LOVE being a mom and my son has completely stolen my heart. He is such a happy baby and he doing fantastic.

BUT My little guy is 2 weeks old and I'm not sure if it's just hormones or what but I can't stop crying.. Breastfeeding isn't going like I wanted it to, I get nothing done around the house, and I just have this feeling inside me that I can't explain.. I felt like this whole do it all mom thing was going to come easier than it is. I'm a first time mom and I just kinda feel like I don't know what I'm doing. Any one out there feeling the same??

I had the same issue when my little girl was born. I was totally commited to breast feeding and four days after she was born, my husband had to return to his duty station for 4 more weeks before he gets out for good and he still isn't home yet - anyway, I was crying all the time and I dreaded whenever I would have to feed her. Her latch wasn't perfect but it wasn't bad either and like I said, I was fully commited but it became such a stress on me that I felt like I wasn't a good enough mom and I constantly felt down. We then switched to formula and ever since then it has been amazing. I love every part of being a mommy and I haven't cried since the day we switched her. I'm not telling you to switch to formula but if you think there is an obvious stress in your life, do everything you can to change it because unhealthy mommy means unhealthy baby. I dealt with this as well. I EBF my 7 week old but when he is on my boob for an hour straight I get frustrated and think "this wouldn't happen if I ff." Also, no one else can feed him and it seems like every time he cries people pass him to me to eat. Breastfeeding is NOT easy. At all!! Some days I hate it but there are some times I love it. I've made it almost 2 months and my goal is 6 and we'll see where we go from there. There's nothing wrong with formula, both options lead to a healthy fed baby so who really cares anyways? If breastfeeding is making you unhappy, try pumping or formula for a bit. Also, screw a clean house girl! You have every excuse not t do any house work, take advantage hahaha

Defiantly normal.  I had the baby blues the first 2 wks on and off. Our baby girl is now 3 wks old and even though I'm so sleep deprived I feel much more stable hormonal wise.

Are you a ftm? I was like that when I had my first child but haven't had any problems of baby blues with the second. Just having worries about him since he had to go to the hospital for almost a week around his one month mark.

I think the first 2-3 weeks I just cried all the time... I'm enjoying being a mom way more than I thought I would, but every little stress pushed me over the edge. Once we hit 4-5 weeks though I feel like all the hormones totally balanced out. I still cry sometimes, but it's not at all like it was before. It'll get better! And soon!! I feel the same way. I have no idea what I'm doing. I cry all the time. My little girl is 10 days old. My husband took her and left yesterday just so I could feel some kind of normalcy again. I took a long hot shower and made myself dinner (even though he told me to sleep) and after an hour and a half I begged him to bring her home. I'm so lost. I read the baby books but the hormones are crazy. Every time I set her down she screams. She wants to be on me all the time and I can't accomplish anything. Breast feeding is going well but it's exhausting; I feel like I'm constantly sitting around with my boobs out! I'm trying to pump every chance I get so hubby can help with some of the stress but there's only so much I can do. I'm going to buy a sling today so I can carry her around and attempt to accomplish something (she's way too small for the carrier we got). I thought this would come a bit more naturally but it definitely is a constant struggle so far.

My little guy is three weeks on Friday. Breastfeeding is not what I had it made out to be in my head (numerous reasons playing into this) so I completely understand that. I get things done when he's sleeping but then I think I should be snuggling him more when he's sleeping (he isn't awake for long periods yet) and am I wasting this precious time with him?

First time mom as well. First two weeks I was the same way! My baby girl is almost 4 weeks now and I feel a ton better. It gets better! You are doing a good job momma!

This is me to the letter. It turned out I just needed more sleep. 
Choose you battles, don't do anything (it's hard to leave a mess). 
Focus on looking after yourself - if you're a mess it's harder to look after baby. 
My baby is now 4 weeks and last night I got almost six hours sleep (not all at once) and I feel great today. I'll be having a few naps today to make up eight hours
