If you were offered a C-Section for a large baby, would you take it?

My son was 9.9 lbs I had a uncomplicated, un medicated vaginal birth. My brother was 10.5lbs my mother had a perfectly normal vaginal birth. I would never take on the risk of surgery unless absolutely necessary. Your baby is the perfect size for your body.

Babies get natural probiotics from passing through the birth canal. That's a huge reason for me to try my best for vaginal.

They don't offer c sections for large babies here if that's the only issue.
My baby was pretty big, nearly 10 pounds and I had no issues with natural delivery

Yes my son was nearly 10lbs and he ripped and they still had to cut me and they had to do blood transfusions and I dislocated my sons left arm and leg because of my birth canal not having enough room for him so deff I would so that me and my child don't have to go through that again

I delivered a 9 pound baby 100% natural. I would not take a c section. My son was supposed to be bigger than my first baby according to my measurements and ultrasounds. They said he'd easily be 10 1/2 pounds. He was born 3 weeks later only weighing 7lbs. Measurements can be wrong and can be very far off.

My mother in law had 10lb babies, they wouldn't pass through her birth canal so she HAD to have a csection. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that baby stays small so it doesn't have to come to that

I'm iffy on this subject. To me, it depends on size and how baby is trying to go through the birth canal. I would never want to risk unnecessary surgery, especially having a daughter prior to this and the recovery time involved trying to care for two children. However, if it's medically necessary to keep harm from coming to my child, I'd say sign me up. My best friend had a daughter who was 10 lbs 4 oz and she wasn't very long, making her appear even chunkier. Her doctors insisted that her baby wouldn't weigh more than 8 lbs and she had a vaginal delivery and her daughter had issues upon birth due, dislocations etc. She obviously tore and had issues of her own, which I couldn't imagine, but I'd gladly take any issue in the world just to keep the baby from going through any harm. So, to me, it truly depends on how big of a size of baby and birth canal. It can be necessary, but I wouldn't opt for it just so I wouldn't have to deliver vaginally.

Nope. I'ma try natural first and if it's absolutely necessary then I'll let it happen.  Not just because the dr thinks baby might be too big. Women birth huge babies all the time.

I would be really considering for anything over 11. That just sounds crazy to me.

The only way I would is if it was necessary for the sake of my baby, I'd never choose to get one tho.
