My boyfriend is coming for a visit in one week and I am incredibly excited to have him here!  I made the decision to get the Mirena IUD before we really had sex-we used condoms and fooled around a bit on my last visit, but not really any thrusting and he didn't ever finish, even with a condom. 

I chose Mirena for a number of reasons and am happy with things so far. My question is about ditching the condoms. 

He has been tested and I was a virgin, so with no STI worries, we both want to enjoy sex with nothing between us. I also want the intimacy of him finishing inside of me. I KNOW how effective IUDs are, but that nagging nervousness is in the back of my mind. Did it take you a while to get past that and let your guy finish inside without a worry?  Were you able to trust your IUD enough to just enjoy the moment and closeness?  Because I'm really hoping that I can and looking for a little assurance, I guess.
