Castor oil?

I'm 40 weeks and my doctor said if he doesn't come over the weekend she's going to induce me Wednesday (I'll be 40w4d) I've been walking like crazy, eating spicy foods, not able to have as much sex as I would like due to living situations right now.. Should I take a spoonful of castor oil or not?? I've been told too, haven't asked my doctor yet though

I wouldn't risk it, not only because of the risk to your baby but imagine if it did work and you had diareah your entire labor 😷

Everyone is different. Both my sisters took castor oil with all their kids and went into labor that night. Everything went fine, babies were very healthy. But who knows how it would go with you. As much as you want to just give birth already, I think you should just wait. It's only a couple more days! Then you get your precious little one!

Your definitely supposed to ask your doctor before trying any self induction method because if they found out you did something without asking first, most get very upset. My friend did castor oil and her baby pooped in the sac and had to be in the nicu for almost a month and when her doctor found out she took the castor oil he was pissed..

Go to the Walgreens and buy some evening primrose oil at least 1500 MG and put 2 capsules up your hoo ha at bed time do this every night if your labor doesn't start before you are induced at least your cervix will be much more favorable for induction.

The doctor wanted to induce me at 39 weeks because she was worried about my amniotic fluid being low. I went home because a specialist came and said I would be okay the weekend, but to check back on Monday. I was determined to get labor going naturally that night so I ate some pineapple and had eggplant for dinner. 3:30 am that same night my contractions started :) I swear it was the eggplant! I wouldn't do Casotor oil because the idea of cramps and contractions from labor and diarrhea scared me.

I asked my doctor about all the methods. He said castor oil is a myth it doesn't necessarily induce labor. He said it just makes you throw up and gives you diarrhea. Plus it dehydrated you.
