What would you do?

Question

What would you do if your child was born with both male and female parts? Would you raise them gender neutral and let them come into their own? Would you pick and have a surgery done so they would have a specific idenity? I was just laying awake last night and this popped in my head. I'm not sure if there is a right or wrong answer on this, as it would definitely be a difficult situation. Of course it's just a hypothetical question, as I'm not even sure how all that works.

I'd have surgery and later on if they decided they feel like it's the wrong gender I'd help them get another surgery...

I know someone who has both, she's older but she's shared with me how horrible it was growing up and how many times she was taped and humiliated for having both parts and just never has had the money to do anything about it and now she's older so she doesn't feel like it matters anymore.

She prefers to be called a woman.

They would be Intersex, the only other gender/sex other than male or female.

It would be up to them in the end. If they wish to be male or female, or if they decide to have surgery to remove either part they don't want, or choose not to have surgery.
