Pumping to increase milk supply

I am planning to pump to increase the milk supply. Not for storage reasons. In that case I'm supposed to pump right after my baby has fed. So if I do that will there be enough for my baby before her next feeding session? She feeds every 2-3 hours. Will my supply get sufficient before that?
