Baby names

I know sometimes we can be possessive with baby names and I know I can be like that too ,... my question is would you use a name a family member Has, even though you don't see them (1x every 2 years or more) . I love the name . My cousin and I don't see eachother. It's my mom's sisters sons name. I'm not very close to that side of the family anyway. I know I'd probably feel like "why can't you get another name" lol idk.
