Baby lotion for dry skin ???

Can any moms out there tell me if your aloud to put lotion on a 1 month old. My son was a premie but he's a month old and is starting to get dry skin. What lotions am I able to use or should I not use anything ? Please help me ladies. If I am able to , any recommendation ?

Coconut oil all the way! I read somewhere that it matches the pH balance of our skin. It's so gentle and I use it for myself too :D

Coconut oil. I massage him with it, add a bit to his bath water and use it on his bottom if he gets a rash. It's awesome!!

I use aveeno baby lotion on my 2 week old. He has dry skin everywhere especially his hands and feet and his skin was starting to peal. It works great and doesn't irritate his skin at all

My doctor said I could use a little A&D for her cracked spots

Honest I tried all the shop bought creams. My baby was really dry and at a point it looked painful. Olive oil is the best. After giving baby a bath gently massage it on to the skin. I saw a big difference in 2 days and baby is so soft. If i don't trust olive oil, try Vaseline.

My son was a preemie too and they kept telling us not to put anything on his skin (nurses in nicu), but his elbows are sooo dry since coming home! I've used just the smallest amount of the Honest Company face and body lotion on him when I notice is getting extra dry and he hasn't had any adverse reactions. I'm still not 100% sure why they were so against using it. I plan to ask at our next appointment with his pediatrician. She asked us if we used any lotion on him and I said yes but that was kind of the extent of the conversation

Aquaphor baby and Aveeno for babies are good to use. My pediatrician gave me a bunch of samples of both to use on my 6 week old
