Breast feeding?

I'm getting induced tomorrow morning at 4am! And i just wanted some advice on Brest feeding...I plan on definitely trying it out but I want to do
It at home and then pump for when we go places so I don't have to do it in public just because I'm more comfortable that way so do you have to wait so long before you can pump? And if you r already breast feeding hoe many times a day between your baby's feeds do you try to pump and if I pump between feeding will
It affect my baby getting enough milk?

Pumping isn't recommended in the beginning while you are establishing your supply. Babies eat on demand so as often as every 2 hrs and some babies take longer to nurse so by the time baby is done it could be an hour before they r ready again. I have always been told wait atleast 4-6 weeks before pumping then add 1 pumping session a day (around same time each day). I encourage you to explore nursing in public, it seems scary at first but it's whole lot easier then trying to pump a bottle and then bring it with you. Most places can offer you a private space, there are covers, or even nursing in the car. Whatever your decision, good luck on your induction and your BF adventure with your nursling.

Drink lots of water and Wait until your milk comes in then pump right after baby eats... It won't effect baby getting enough if you do that. Also the more baby eats the more you produce and the pump doesn't always help you produce more in the beginning so try to feed baby as much as possible and only pump after baby eats.

Breastfeeding is such a wonderful experience so I am glad to hear you are trying it! I still breast feed my 1.5 year old. He was a lazy latcher in the beginning so I had to pump a lot the first few months. They say not to switch from bottle to breast and back the first month or so because of nipple confusion but I never had that problem so it's up to you on when to start pumping. Its best to pump soon after baby gets off the breasts(try within 30 minutes) because the baby stimulates the nipple better than the pump. What you pump out, is not a great reflection of your production rate for that reason! No matter how things go FED IS BEST - whether that means baby goes to breast, gets what you pumped, or has to be formula fed so don't let anyone put you down for the choices you have to make. Drink tons of water and Gatorade. I pump after I feed her. A baby can get more milk out than the pump so don't worry about not having enough milk. Right after you pump your body should start making more immediately and don't think you don't have any milk if your boobs get squishy after you feed there's still some in there.
