It does seem I come across a lot of people who are 'pro life' but also against government assistance. It seems very hypocritical to me.

I think it's sad but true. It seems as if a lot of people who think abortion should be illegal are the same ones who complain about their tax money going towards government assistance. If abortion were illegal, I'm willing to bet we would be paying a higher amount of money into funding these programs.

I strongly agree with the fact that if you can't support yourself and a child then you shouldn't have a child.

Disagree. I'm very pro life and also don't support long-term government assistance. I believe that people should take more responsibility for obtaining proper birth control or not having sex if they cannot afford a child. I also understand that people go through financial hardships and need some temporary assistance, but my problem is with the people who milk government assistance because it's easier than getting a job. I think people need to take personal responsibility for themselves and their actions.

I'm pro-life & pro-govt assistance 🙋 The only thing I wish we could change is instead of the govt forcing people to "donate," people should just do it! Churches, charitable organizations, etc. should be supporting the poor, not the govt. Aka, we should all be WILLINGLY helping the poor!!
