Evening primrose oil?? does it help induce labor??

Does evening primrose oil help induce labor and is it safe to take while pregnant? And how much do you take of it a day I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow and I really want him out so please help

It doesn't induce labor it just helps soften your cervix I've been taking 3, 1000mg tablets per day (one after each meal) and 2 vaginally every night since 36 weeks I'm now 39+4 and no sign of baby

My doc actually recommended it. 1 capsule orally, 2 capsules vaginally at night.

I used it with my son in 2012 and it made my water break on my due date but I still dilated slowly. He was ultimately born csection due to heart rate decelling during contractions. I didn't opt to use it the time around.
