Question

I have MTHFR and Factor V Leiden blood clotting disorders. Waiting on my beta blood test from Monday (Longest. Wait. Ever.) so that my doc can confirm my HCG is rising and I can start Lovenox injections. It would be amazing for anyone in the same boat to comment so I can share this crazy roller coaster with y'all!

I have the MTHFR deficiency. My dr had me on extra folic acid and a baby asprin before we even became pregnant. We went it to see him around 4 weeks to do blood work. He then started me on an even higher dose of folic acid, progesterone day (oral) and night (vaginal) as well as lovenox injections daily. So far so good. We are keeping our fingers crossed since we have had two miscarriages in the last year. Good luck!

I have the MTHFR C677T mutation. I'm just taking a Pre-natal that has folate (Smarty Pants Pre-natal Gummies).

I am heterozygous for Factor V and have 2 copies of heterozygous MTHFR. One chemical in the past and 1 loss at 7 weeks. I am now on Thorne Prenatal with methyl folate, baby aspirin, and 40mg Lovenox daily. Those with MTHFR should NOT be taking regular folic acid, only methylated. Doctors think prescribing a high dose of folic acid is the right thing for us but it is actually more harmful.

Are you more so taking the lovenox for the Factor V? Because I know it's not standard practice to treat MTHFR, even the compound kind, with anticoagulant. And are you taking methyl folate? That's the most natural folate and easiest absorbed by people who have MTHFR mutations.

I have MTHFR. I did take a prophylactic dose of lovenox with my last pregnancy. Not sure if I'll be taking it with this pregnancy. If you need any tips about taking the injections, I'm happy to help.
