What's the best split end repair?

I'm at my freakin wits end and need some suggestions... Here's my dilemma: I've got super long hair, but about a year and a half ago decided to get bangs. They were cute and all, but not really my thing, so I've been growing them out ever since. They are now at chin length, and I'd like to continue growing them til they've grown out completely, which is going to take a LONG time! I've never had a problem with split ends before (My hair had always been very healthy), but because I have to constantly keep my hair tightly tied back for work, it's created MASSIVE split end damage to my grown-out bangs. The damage is so bad, that in order to correctly remedy the problem, I'd have to cut off so much that I'd have to go back to having short bangs again. I don't want to do that. SOOO... Here's my question: What's the best split end repair that you've used? I know that ultimately, the only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them, but seeing as I really don't want to go back to having bangs, I'd like to keep growing them out for a little bit more before I start trimming anything. What's a really good split end repair I could try? Any suggestions would be VERY appreciated! Thank you!!
