4th degree tear

I had a 4th degree tear and have been told by my doctors that I may have to have a c section next time around. I am absolutely terrified of getting a c section for some reason and it scares me to even get pregnant again but I so badly want more kids :(

There are plenty of things you can do to ensure your vagina is more ready next time around. Perinial stretching/massages, prime rose oil, slow paced pushing/taking it in stages. I would probably find a different doctor for your next pregnancy though if that was their stance on things.

I had a horrible tear everything including my poor labia....stitches from front to back. My second delivery was vaginal and it was great no drugs and one stitch! Have you asked them why they insist on a csection?

I had a 4th degree tear with my first baby in 2007, and the recovery was difficult. I was treated by a dr head of obgyn and specialist in this topic. he advised me not to try another vaginal birth for two reasons: i had a very large baby (9lbs) and i was still experience some anal incontinence a year later. so my second baby in 2013 was born cesarean and so will this one be. i found recovery from c section faster than the tear, but the birth experience was clinical. heres a link to a good study on outcomes for women who have 3rd and 4th degree tears. http://www.elmtreemedical.com/blog-elmtree/2016/7/22/will-i-tearagain-delivery-after-anal-sphincter-injury

i had a 4th degree tear, all the way through and they didnt stitch me properly and then they gave me laxatives. everything was coming out the wrong end 😑 had to have surgery to fix it and will have to do physiotherapy. I LOVE my baby but i refuse to do that again...it was way to traumatic for me.
