Twins born at 36 weeks ??

I don't get many replies if any when I post on here but here goes lol. I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. Have an official induction date of Friday next week when I'll be bang on 37 weeks. I have a growth scan Monday as twin 1 only gained 6oz in th last 2 week and twin 2 gained a whole pound and 2oz ahead of him. Anyway if he has not grown much (which I don't think he will have as they have given him a week to gain half a lb, he didn't even gain that in 2 weeks) then they may induce Monday or Tuesday. They were 6lb 2 and 5lb 9oz at my scan 4 days ago. My question is how healthy and happy will they be being born at around 36+3 weeks and has anyone else had twins born this week?? Thanks in advance.

Just remember that those scans are just estimates of weight, they aren't 100% accurate. My friend had a 9lb baby yesterday and 3 days before she had her, they said her baby was in the low 7lb range. So? With that, have faith that your babies are growing. As for a 37 week old baby, in the medical world, that is considered full term.

My friend had her twins at 35 weeks and they were 5lbs each, healthy with no NICU.  I am just hoping to make it to at least 34 weeks with my twins since I'm on hospital bed rest at risk for pre-term labor (currently 30 weeks). The Neonatologist told me that if born at 34 weeks or later they would not need to go into the NICU.  Good luck!

My twins weighed 5lb10oz and 6lb12oz and are doing great.  No NICU time at all, no health problems at all.

Mine were born at 36 weeks and 6 days. My some was 5lbs1oz and my daughter was 4lbs8oz....they were completely healthy. No nicu stay or anything. Good luck!!

My doctor told me the average week for twins is about 35 weeks. Which they will be admitted into NCUI just for monitoring and babies should prove them self out of NCUI which in most cases they do!

I havnt had twins but my first baby stopped growing and was induced at 36 weeks. She was 6lb 3 and perfect x

I'm kind of dealing with the same thing. I'm 32 w and b is measuring small. But 5 and 6 lbs are great weights! Your placenta(s) are obviously working and doing a great job. 36 is a wonderful milestone for twins. No worries mama, you did fabulous and those babies will be fine. I hope I make it that far!
