Okay so the obesity post brought up a good question. Who do you think is at fault for obesity?

I'm considered obese and I can't tell you no fast food restaurant or media nor health condition made me gain weight. I'm just lazy as hell. I'm not morbidly obese I'd say I'm about 80 pounds over weight but it's no ones fault but my own I'm perfectly capable of losing weight and go through  fazes where I'll eat super clean and exercise and drop 20 pounds or so then go back to eating crap. So personally it's my fault I'm not even gonna sit here and try to blame anything else. At the same time knowing its my fault I don't walk around in too little clothes forcing people to look at all my jelly and accept it, we shouldn't accept it in my opinion it shouldn't be the norm to be obese. It shouldn't be the norm to be extra impossibly skinny either. There's a happy medium that we have yet to achieve.

I absolutely hate the Bmi chart.. it's unrealistic as hell.. I'm 6ft tall and pre pregnancy weighed 200lbs. I loved my body. But my doctor is like omg you're obese . I hiked 4 miles 3x a week and had a 50 hr a week physical job.. I was by no means unhealthy!! I eat very healthy but don't starve myself.. my blood pressure cholesterol sugar and everything is perfect.. 
What's the cause of obesity.. look at what the market feeds us.. everything is coated in sugar and stuffed with calories!!  Unhealthy food is cheap and organic is ridiculously expensive.  We stopped self sufficient farming years ago so we just eat chemicals and absolute shit..

While there are things that can make the body have a hard time burning fat like genetics, thyroid, medication, hormones, etc.. Ultimately it is up to the person and what they are eating. Fat is made only by excess sugar in the blood. 
The only other thing to blame is marketing and false information. But again, everyone should do research on what food does to the body.

A mixture of things, I'd say. The US has it really bad since all your food is pretty much junk, a healthy diet isn't that easy to achieve, the lazy culture of not working out, lack of motivation, acceptance of higher weight, corporations adding junk to all food, people not wanting to cook healthy, parents feeding children bad and unhealthy food... I really think it's a mixture of a lot of things to be honest.

I've seen people complain and say, "Ohhh, well I have this disease and that medical issues blah blah blah" but that doesn't mean shit.
I go to a bodybuilding gym similar to Gold's Gym. There are 80 year olds that have had cancer that are there 4 to 5 times a week lifting weights and doing cardio. There was a mma who weighed 350 pounds walking in. You know what he weights now? 210 and is building rock solid muscle and has been doing a damn good job of it. Oh, wait...I forgot to mention he has diabetes and a thyroid issue.
My mom got a herniated disk a few years back and thought her workout days were over. After talking to a contest prep trainer at my gym, he gave her a full list of what she can and can't do and even offered to have her join the gym so that he would be able to have her make progress with the right training.
There is always a way to get the body you want. Does it mean the food you eat is going to always be pretty? No. Will it always taste good? Absolutely not. Will your social life decline for awhile? Yes. Will you be sore and tired and want to quit a million times and wonder why the hell you're putting yourself through it? Hell yes. But when you lose that weight and start seeing your progress...when other people start seeing your progress, you will realize exactly why you sacrificed so much for a period of time.
People work out for a month or 2 and wonder why they can't see anything. It takes a lot longer than 2 months to start seeing real changes. And you sure as hell won't see results when you secretly stop at McDonalds or Wendy's after your workout.
Obesity can be nipped in the butt real quick. Making sure kids are exercising and eating healthy is a start. Stop blaming your "health issues" on you being fat. Get off your ass and make an attempt to go see someone or get some help and/or advice. Whatever you're going through, there is a way to still lose weight in a correct way.
Nobody said it will be easy....

Obesity is ones own fault. A huge section of obese people "love their body" etc etc without realising that obesity could cuase major health problems. What they do is preach about loving all body types, loving themselves...like, hello! a lot of ambitious people have lost so many weights. 
Obesity is a huge risk for the body, and people doesn't become obese in one day, day after day their laziness turns them obese.. This is sad.
