Tips for soft hair?

My hair is black, thick, and somewhat coarse. No matter what I do, it seems to always be dry. I cannot afford any high end salon treatments right now. Wondered if anyone had tips or ideas for softer hair?

You can put olive oil in your hair, wrap a plastic bag on it and then let it sit for 30min before washing. Do this weekly. It will help. My aunt also swears that this works great if you use mayonnaise.

Before I shower, I melt down some coconut oil and lather it in my hair and leave it for 30 mins and then wash it out. It always leaves my hair shiny and soft.

Have you tried leave in conditioner? My sister has super coarse hair, almost like a horse tail, that's what helped her! Hers is curly, too, so it was always knotted before she used the leave in conditioner. Now it's thick, but soft, and not many tangles at all! :)

After shampoo use lemon or Apple cider leave for 2-3 mins , thn apply conditioner as normal , and before goin to shower apply Luke warm coconut oil n wrap ur hair with warm towel for half an hour or so thn wash normally . Apple cider works great even when u ll apply on wet hair u can feel the result at that same time . Try this 😊

On Sundays I put Pantene conditioner on my daughters dry hair and put a shower cap on her and we watch TV for an hour or so and by the time she bathes her hair is super conditioned

I'm not sure your ethnicity so I'm not sure which products will be great. Whatever the case, you can always do hot oil treatments. Look on YouTube for your hair type. 1,2,3,4 and see other peoples regimens for your hair type.

Also if you wash every other day or 2x a week (depending on hair thickness) with baking soda it really cleans and softens the hair- use straight baking soda nixed with water to create a past, massage through hair really getting the scalp, let sit and then rinse. Then shampoo like regular.

I went through a really fizzy hair stage. To help, I would put argon oil on the bottom 1/3-1/2 of my wet, freshly washed hair then style as normal.
