Stopping labor at 36 wks?

Question

At what point do doctors not stop labor? I'm 36 weeks so I know my girl isn't full term for a few more weeks, but do doctors still give you procardia at this point if you do go into labor?

My OB said its a pretty universal rule that doctors will let labor happen naturally anytime at or after 34 weeks and won't stop it!

They won't stop labour after 34 weeks they just give you steroid injections for babys lungs (which are agony) I was in pre term labour at 34 weeks but we managed to slow it down and get her to cook more. I'm now almost 37 weeks and still cooking away 😊💕.

You are considered full term at 37 weeks. They wouldn't really stop labor unless it was necessary

Drs can keep stopping it all the way up until 37 weeks. Each Dr is different. Ask urs what they would do. Mine would stop it in the 35th week but not the 36th. The nurse said some drs go as far as stopping it at 36+6. The magic number is 37, unless ur Dr says otherwise, or u ride it out at home until ur too far into it to stop it.

My doctor said after 34 weeks they no longer stop labor because babies born after then normally don't need higher than level 2 NICU which is what a lot of hospitals are equipped with. I'm 35 and she wouldn't stop mine if I went into labor now.

Hoping to make it to my induction date of May 4th when I'll be 37 exactly. Having problems with BP though so we'll see if I make it that long!

I'm 37 weeks and my doc said 37 can be full term, so I can go in at anytime and they wouldn't stop my labor.

Yup! Agree with everyone else! I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks. I had to stay in the hospital until 34 weeks (a really critical point), then was able to come home on meds and bedrest. At 36 weeks, no more meds/bedrest/interventions.
