Well i think that it is tough on him to see you with someone else if i was you i would try to distance my self a lil so when the time comes for or if u and ur current bf get married then you wouldn't feel as guilty and he might be able to move on as well 😊 thats wat i think or i been watching to much dramas and life experiences

I have this best guy friend of 8 years. We were going to date in HS but I fell for another guy instead and broke his heart. That relationship ended horribly for me btw (karma 🙄 lol) We became friends again (I don't remember who initiated contact) and I made it clear to him that I no longer had romantic feelings towards him and he said that he understood and was okay with that. We both have dated other people since but recently he told me that he feels like I'm "the one" for him and will do anything to make me realize that. I'm currently in a relationship (he says he will never come between that). I feel like this relationship I'm in will lead to marriage and I've told him this but he insists that I'm "the one". I feel bad knowing that I don't feel the same, but I also don't want to stop being his friend because he's been there for me recently when I've went through rough times and we get along very well.

Ok. So this is my exact situation. I have my best friend who is a guy. We've been best friends for 10 years. When we first met, it was due to being interested in each other. We dated briefly and then both mutually decided just to be friends. Fast forward a few years and we became the absolute best of friends. He's been there for me through breakups, both bad and good. Ones of three week relationships and ones of five year relationships. He's been my rock through it all.. However now I've found the love of my life and we are happily engaged, about to be married in two months. My best friend as of recently started professing his feelings for me once again..I think this is because he feels he needs to do it before it's too late.. Most likely why your best guy friend is doing it as well.. Because he has to say it now or never.. Especially if you feel you're going to marry the one you're with.. I had to explain to my best friend that his feelings were not going to change the relationship that I was in and although I didn't feel the same I wanted to remain best friends.. But the only way I could do so was if he respected my fiancé and acted only as a best friend and stopped with the comments about his feelings towards me (they happened often and started to upset my fiancé.)

It's a really hard position to be in, as you may know, because he's your best friend!! You absolutely love and adore him but you are absolutely head over heels in love with your significant other and it's almost like you have to choose at times.. It's a hard situation to be in but as long as you're upfront and honest with him, and he respects your feelings.. Then I say it's completely fine and respectful to have a guy best friend who is in love with you even though the feelings aren't reciprocated.
