So I'm 7w1d pregnant & I went to get an ultrasound And they told me I couldn't get pictures & said that there wouldn't be a heartbeat till 10 weeks? What the hell?!

I just went for my first prenatal appointment today. They told me it was too early to see or hear anything special. They took blood and said my hCG was consistent with dating and made an appointment for my 12 week one where I'll be able to hear the heartbeat. It's not all that unusual to not have one at 8 weeks...

They have to have pretty sensitive equipment to pick up the heartbeat at 6-7 weeks. Perhaps they just don't have the equipment to get it earlier than 10 weeks.

I was told it can be hard to see or hear anything that early but it's not a reason to worry. You can usually see the baby when you're further along. Don't stress! 💜

Do they only do abdominal vs internal? One office wouldn't see you until 10 weeks for an abdominal because it's harder to pick up.
